We Don't Need a Chaperone

Today we chaperoned for Aidin's class field trip to Murasaki Mura, which is an old Okinawan village/butterfly sanctuary.  After four hours it was once more confirmed that I could not ever be a teacher.  Kids, although hilarious and fun, are a lot like puppies. And I'm not a dog person.

The experience can be summed up by one conversation with eight-year old Nikolai:
"We have to stay together. You can't just wander off."
"Okay. But I fell out of a window when I was a baby, so you can't really blame me if I forget what you just said."
(And he did. Repeatedly.)
