Hey guys!
We are on day eight of our cross-country expedition and so far it's been pretty fantastic.
We spent the first week in Tennessee, first with family in East TN, then to Memphis.
Besides being hot as a mother it was such a fun week!
Naps, fried food, pool on the daily, creek swimming with bulls, porch swinging and fireworks.
My #1 road trip tip for all my military mamas is to stay on bases whenever possible. The affordability of base lodging is just one of its many benefits. If you plan of visiting a landmark, amusement park or other popular destination you can almost always find discounted tickets at a base travel office.
Just as an example, we stayed in Millington, TN at NSA Mid-South base (20 minutes from Memphis) and we paid $41/night (2 queen beds, kitchenette, access to laundry). We also went through the base travel office to score Graceland tickets at a 30% discount.

Now on to Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico!
