Today's All Dressed Up is from Fathers Day.
I didn't get the chance to know my dad and if he's anything like Spouse I missed out.
Spouse is an awesome father...and he didn't have to be. He was handsome, single and carefree when he started dating this smokin' hot single mom (creative liberties). From the start everything included Man-Child (who was 2). We took him everywhere and never once did Spouse complain about the lack of alone time. The three of us watched movies together and played at the park long before Spouse and I shared our first kiss.
I kept waiting for him to tire of me; tire of the responsibility and stress.
But the truth is I believe he saw us as his family from the start.
Do I make fun of his old man pleated pants? Yes.
Is he the best man and greatest father I know? Hands down.

ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet story. He is a great guy. My dad married my mother when I was two and my brother was five, and he never treated me like a stepchild. He was always "dad." I have the utmost respect for any man who falls in love with a woman AND her children. Love your dress and your pink hair!

ReplyDeleteI love my hubby, but when we first started dating, the Nike tees and Levis just didn't do it for me. Now (and the angels are singing in the background) I have him go to Nordstrom, where a stylist takes a strong grasp of his even stronger hand, but he allows them to lead the way. He has grown so much in fashion, but in his way (okay, maybe mine too). Blazers, designer jeans, and shoes that cost a crazy amount that I would never dream of spending. Love our men, as they love unto us. Your family is gorgeous!!!
